Hope everyone is doing well! Just a few notes:
*A reminder to drop off prizes for the spring fundraiser
*Friday the 13th is AG Days is Sunburst. Ben, Brielle, and Alex L. need to be at the school by 7:10AM. The bus will leave at 7:10AM. The bus will pick up Websters at 7:13. Kelsyn, Kolby, and Luke need to be at the highway at 7:25. The bus will pick up Alex B. at his house at 7:32. We will pick up Emma at Main Street Convenience at 7:50ish. AG Days starts at 8:30 in Sunburst.
*Students may pack a snack for the field trip, but we will be eating lunch at the Sunburst school after AG Days is over. The school will pay for student lunches. After lunch, students will go for a library visit. There is no after school club that day. South Route will run.

Dear Families,
The end of the 3rd quarter is on Thursday, March 24th. Report cards will go home on April 1st. Parent/Teacher Conferences are on Tuesday, April 5th. Please return the P/T conf. sign up with your first and second choices marked and we will send home a schedule with report cards.
Students will be going on a short field trip on Tuesday, March 22nd. After lunch students in Ms. VanGorden’s class will be going to the Heritage Center to read to residents. Ms. Fleming’s class will go to Dr. Clark’s office to interview a veterinarian. Both classes will meet up for a library visit following. Buses will run at regular times.
Just a reminder, there is no school for Galata students on Friday, March 25th.
Students have an early release at 1PM on Tuesday, April 5th. Teachers have a half day PIR for P/T Conferences.
Movie Night has been moved to Thursday, April 21st at 7PM.
The Spring Program date has been set for Monday, May 23rd.

Hello Families!
Just a few reminders for the coming week:
*Sunday is Daylight Savings time. Don’t forget to “spring forward” Saturday night!
*Thursday is St. Patrick’s Day. Kerri will be bringing lunch for students.
*Ms. VanGorden’s class has CRT testing next week. Please be sure your children get lots of sleep this week, and good healthy breakfasts in the morning! Good luck children!!

--Book orders are going home in today’s Friday Folder. Because of the field trip next week, please return orders by Wednesday, February 9th.
--It seems several students in Miss VanGorden’s class are running low on pencils, but keep forgetting to ask mom and dad to pick some up, so here’s a reminderJ
--Valentine’s Day is on Monday, February 14th. Please help your child make a box and a set of Valentine’s for the other kids at school. Melissa Aklestad is in charge of the party, and she will be bringing lunch for the students.
--Kristi will be bringing lunch for students on Thursday, February 17th for Ben’s birthday.
--Reminder, there is no school on Monday or Tuesday, 7th & 8th, or Friday, February 18th & 25th.
FIELD TRIP:
--Busses will run their regular routes on Thursday, February 10th. Students and teachers will depart from the school in one bus at 9:00AM.
--11:00: Tour and lunch at Macaroni Grill
--12:30: Tour and craft at Paris Gibson Art Museum
--2:30: Tour CM Russel Museum
--4:15: Tour Great Falls Animal Shelter
--4:40ish: ABC News Depending on when we arrive we will have a tour and watch
the 5:00 news broadcast, or watch the news broadcast and then have a tour.
--6:00ish: Meet up with parents at the Golden Corral. The school will buy dinner for the families. You are in charge of your children from the Golden Corral on. J
--The bus will leave the Motel 6 parking lot at 7:30AM for Showdown. We will have muffins or donuts and juice on the bus for the kids. Please be sure they have their own snacks packed!!
--Lunch for students and families at Showdown is being paid for by the school. I must have those orders back by Wednesday. Anyone who doesn’t preorder with me is on their to pay for lunch. The Showdown menu is on the back of this parent note. Please fill out and return attached order by Wednesday.
--Please let us know your arrangements for getting students home. A bus will be available for students to get back home.

Happy Birthday to MEEEEEE!!!!!
Um…Okay, down to business:
--Our field trip is on February 10 and 11. Busses will run at their regular times on Thursday morning. We will leave from the school at 8:45. Our first stop is a tour of Macaroni Grill and a chance to talk with staff. The school will provide lunch for students at the Grill. After lunch we will go to the Paris Gibson Art Museum. Following that, we will head to the Malmstrom AFB Museum. If you plan on going to the museum with us, please give me your driver’s license information ahead of time, or email it to Curtis.shannon@malmstrom.af.mil so you don’t have to wait to get in. After that visit we will go to the CM Russel Museum, the Great Falls Animal Shelter, and then the ABC news station. We will be at the News Station to watch the 5:00 news broadcast! After the news broadcast we will be going to Golden Corral for dinner. The school will pay for students’ and families’ meals on that evening. Parents are in charge of their children from dinner on, that evening. There is a block of rooms reserved at the Motel 6, next door to the Heritage Inn. In fact, Heritage Inn owns the Motel 6 so you will have access to the pool there. Please reserve your rooms by January 27th; that is when the block will be dropped. The number is: 406-453-1602. Hotels are filling up fast because of a big wrestling match that week, so don’t wait to reserve! We will leave for Showdown on Friday the 11th at 7:30AM.

**Michelle Billedeaux will be bringing lunch on Monday for Alex’s Birthday.
**Students have an early dismissal at 2:30 on Monday for our Christmas Program. Please have students back to the Community Hall at 6:30.
**If you haven’t talked to a teacher about a specific snack, please bring something to share for after the program.
**As far as costumes go, students just need to look nice. They all will be wearing elf hats for the program.
**Please be sure students bring their Secret Santa gifts to school on Monday or Tuesday.
**Kelli Lohr will be bringing lunch for students on Tuesday.
**Tuesday dismissal is at 3:30. Teachers will also be leaving at 3:30 that day for travel.
**A reminder, there is no school from December 22-January 3. School will resume on Tuesday, January 4. Tuesday, January 4, students will be taking a short morning field trip to Chester for a library visit. We will be back before lunch.
**CALENDAR CHANGE: Because of our “snow day,” we need to make up school on Thursday, February 17th.
We are still in the market for an afternoon bus driver for the south route. If you’re interested, please contact Deb.

Oops!! There was a small typo in our last parent note. Apparently the Great Falls Veterinary Service is not taking reservations for our field trip…and I doubt they have pool accessJ. The correct phone number for the Great Falls Motel 6 is: 406-453-1602. Sorry for the people who were Johnny-on-the-spot and already tried to make their reservations. Please remember, the rooms will only be held until January 27th, and then the block will be dropped. Ask to make a reservation under Galata Elementary School for Thursday, February 10th.
Very few people have purchased yearbooks from last year. If you would like to purchase a yearbook for the 2009-2010 school year, please send $15/book to school. Thank you!!
Our Christmas Program is on Monday, December 20th. There will be an early dismissal that day at 2:30. Students need to be back at the community hall at 6:30.
Kelli Lohr will be bringing lunch for the students on Tuesday, December 21st, for the Christmas party.
The after school club for Destination Imagination will start meeting with Ms. VanGorden on Fridays, after Christmas Break.
Students have Monday, January 3rd off. School will resume on Tuesday, January 4th.
Book Orders are going home today. We will be ordering books on Monday, December 6th!!

Brrrr! Hope you’re keeping warm! This week has been a good reminder to send kids to school prepared for the cold! Hats, gloves, scarves, snowpants, boots, winter coats…all super great ideas!
Anna Fretheim will be bringing lunch for students on Wednesday, November 24th. There is an early dismissal Wednesday at 2:30. There is no school on Thursday or Friday. Happy Thanksgving!
Mark your calendars! We are planning an overnight field trip for February 10th and 11th. There is a block of rooms reserved for February 10th at the Great Falls Motel 6. Please call and secure your reservation by January 27th! Ask for a reservation under Galata Elementary School to receive a group rate of $66 + tax. (406-453-1620) There are only enough rooms reserved for one per family. The block will be dropped January 27th, and any unreserved rooms will be let go. There’s a big wrestling tournament that week in Great Falls and EVERYTHING is booked, so reserve now and don’t risk losing your room! Students will be spending all day on Thursday, February 10th in Great Falls. We will meet up with parents for dinner that evening, compliments of the school. Students will meet up with teachers at 8AM on Friday, February 11th, and head to Showdown for our annual ski trip. We will return to Galata that evening. More details TBA.
Another reminder—Students must know all lines and songs by Monday, November 29th. Please, please, please work with your children at home!! Thank you!

Hello!
Just a reminder, students will be on a field trip tomorrow to the corn maze at Vaughn. Please be sure children are dressed for the weather and have an easy-to-eat sack lunch. Drinks with lids are greatly appreciated!! Buses will run at their normal Wednesday times.
Yearbooks for the 2009-2010 school year are in. If you’re interested in buying a yearbook please send $15 to school with your child.
The Halloween Party will be on Friday, October 29th. Students do not wear their costumes to school. Students will have a chance to change into costumes at 1:00. If your child needs help changing, please come to help them at that time.
No school on Thursday or Friday of this week! Have a great long weekend!

The school will be going on a field trip on Wednesday, October 20. We will be going to Vaughn and walking through a corn maze and doing other corn activities. The buses will run at the regular time in the morning and afternoon. Please have students pack a lunch that is easy to eat on the go. Please be sure that any drinks have replaceable tops! We will be spending quite a bit of time outside, so make sure kids are dressed warm and in layers!!!
There is no school on Thursday or Friday of next week.

Greetings!
Kerri will be bringing lunch for students on Friday, September 17th, for Patrick’s birthday. Teachers will not be in school on Friday. They will be attending MSSA in Lewistown. Subs will be in the classrooms.
Picture day is Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 9AM.
Students will be taking a field trip to the Buffalo Jump at Ulm on Friday, September 24th. The north route will run early that morning, and the bus will be leaving the school at 7:30AM. We will pick up south route students at the highway on our way out of town. We will not be leaving Ulm until 3, so children will be getting home late that afternoon. If you need to make arrangements for dropping of your children on the way home, please send a written note to school. We will send out a bus route schedule next week.
For the field trip:
Students need to wear sturdy walking shoes. No flip flops or sandals!!
Students need to bring a snack and a sack lunch. We won’t be able to heat anything. Please be sure all beverages have a top that closes.
Please be sure students wear coats and layers. We’re going to be outside for most of the day!!
With harvest still in full swing, we’re having trouble scheduling a parent meeting. Please list your first three choices for parent sign ups and return ASAP:
